THOUGHT PUDDLE

Should be at Thought Bubble this week selling freshly printed Hitsville UK comics, but sadly I am not for there are no freshly printed Hitsville UK comics. What with computers self-destructing, moving house and the reduction of hours in the day to a measly 24, the birth of our full-colour, 36-page baby bastard has been somewhat delayed.

To prove I have done some work here's a sneak preview of two new pages, showing the Dreadnoughts going about the daily grind, and then moonstomping it all out on stage.

POSTCARDS FROM YOUR FAVOURITE FICTIONAL BANDS

I'm exhibiting promo postcards from Hitsville UK's roster of acts at Send Me A Postcard Darling.
It's an exhibition of postcard-sized art, curated by my good friends Laura and James, and it looks like they've collated a really eclectic range of artists and work.


It's at the Red Gate Gallery, 209a Coldharbour Lane, London SW9 8RU from 22 to 28 October 2010 and the private view is this Friday 22nd from 6 til 11, and you're all invited unless you're Jeremy Hunt.

NEW STOOL PIGEON ON ISSU

New Stool Pigeon is up on t'interweb so here's the complete fourth Gollum. I've been really mean to him this time, and sorry Mum for being grim.

Now go and read SP, particularly Charlie Parker, Handyman. which is possibly the best yet...

MAGNETIC PIGEONS

Yikes, it's been a busy month of catastrophic computer failure and moving flats.

A couple of new comics.

First, the latest instalment of Gollum's miserable life for the redesigned Stool Pigeon. Seek it out, hipsters.

Secondly, my adaptation of the Magnetic Fields song Love Is Like Jazz, over on Julia's magnificent 69 Love Songs blog.

New Stool Pigeon is out, featuring everyone's favourite Northamptonshire wizard. More fine comics in the middle and we got another nice plug from Forbidden Planet blog. Go find yerself a copy.

PROPS FROM FORBIDDEN PLANET

The comics section of The Stool Pigeon (including yours truly) just got a nice review on the FP blog.

The new Stool Pigeon is out about now, I believe, featuring more Gollum & Johnny Cash, and an interview with the beardy wizard Alan Moore. Hurrah, comics rule!

PINK NINJAS!

I've just done a picture for Martin Eden's JAPANDEX project (detail left).

Martin's the author of the comic Spandex, about a team of gay superheroes based in (obviously) Brighton. It's great, witty, poptastic stuff and you should really buy both copies available so far.

Because issue 2 was set in Japan, Martin has been running JAPANDEX, giving other comics artists and illustrators the chance to do Spandex-inspired pictures riffing off icons of Japanese and Eastern culture. Mine shows the team battling issue 2's Pink Ninjas, with a respectful tipping of the hat to the much copied, never beaten master, Hokusai.

My liver and I had a blast at the Bristol Comics Con at the weekend, where Hitsville went down well amongst the creators whose baffled hands we forced it into. Big props to the legendary Shaky Kane who insisted on paying us the three quid for our efforts.
